PVC-free film screenings at New York Colleges

All across New York State, college students are launching campaigns at their schools to get PVC off of their campuses! Over the next the next two weeks, CHEJ is hitting the road on our PVC-Free Campus Tour with our 25 foot tall inflatable rubber ducky and three short films to raise awareness about the hazards of PVC, found all too often in schools’ building materials and school supplies.

If you’re in the area, we’d love to see you at one of the events!

The films:

• Toxic America is a powerful CNN special with Dr. Sanjay Gupta exposing the health hazards faced by communities in Louisiana where PVC is produced.
• Blue Vinyl is a humorous but sobering story documentary a woman’s quest to find the environmental effects of her parent’s new vinyl siding on their home. (abridged version)
• Sam Suds is a detective story cartoon from CHEJ and the makers of The Story of Stuff about how to avoid PVC products in your home.
